Sul sito ufficiale di Enya è stato confermato che Trains and Winter Rains sarà il primo singolo estratto da And Winter Came... Il singolo uscirà in contemporanea con l'album il 10 novembre ed è stato scelto da Enya in persona. Di questa canzone dice che è particolarmente soddisfatta dell'arrangiamento delle percussioni. Nella news appena pubblicata si parla anche dell'album e della nuova versione di Oíche Chiuín. Eccovi il comunicato ufficiale:
"Trains and winter rains" is now officially confirmed to be the first single to be taken from Enya's seventh studio album "And Winter Came". Both the album and the single are due for release on 10th November this year. "This track is my personal choice for the first single also" Enya says "I particularly enjoyed our percussion arrangement in this song". Although the album had started out as a Christmas project as it began to take shape a broader seasonal theme soon became apparent. "I always wanted to do a Christmas album" explains Enya "but as we began recording I didn't feel it was right to impose a Christmas theme on certain songs." There is a new version of "Oiche Chiuin" (Silent Night) on the album. Nicky Ryan describes the new rendering as 'a choir of one'. "This is something I have wanted to do since Watermark" says Nicky "In fact I had wanted to call Watermark "A choir of one." I'm really happy that we have achieved the "choir" with "Oiche Chiuin (chorale)". More news to follow later.
